JOHANNES BAREND RUST
My name is Barend Rust, and I am married to Hester Rust. I am a motor mechanic in the SANDF, and we are currently living in Upington. The Father has richly blessed us with four beautiful children, for which we honor Him with gratitude every day.
I grew up in a home where my parents knew about God, but did not have a personal relationship with Him. Even so, from a young age I knew there was something special about my life and that I was different. As a little boy, I was already called to work for the Lord. From a young age, I also received dreams and visions from Abba Father, through which the Lord spoke to people, gave them guidance, words of encouragement, and also warnings.
There has always been a deep desire in my heart to learn more about the loving God and His sovereignty. Over the years, my relationship with the Holy Spirit has only grown stronger and deeper.
Jesus has always been, and still is, my best Friend and my Heavenly Father—Someone I can talk to when things become too much for me, but also when I simply want to share my heart or overflow with joy and blessings.
Hester and I have received a calling to work with young people, where we walk a journey with them and help them build a relationship with Jesus and get their lives back on the right path. We also work with small children and the elderly. I also have a hospital ministry where the Holy Spirit has performed many miracles. The Lord has also given us a unique calling to anoint homes and holiday resorts, and we have seen great miracles happen in those specific places.
I enjoy studying the Word of God, breaking it open and understanding it more deeply so that I can share it with others and lead people to the Lord.
I am excited to live out my calling and to learn more about our King Jesus every day. That is why I am excited to go even deeper and gain more knowledge at Bet-el College.
